1. Who we are
Production Investment Exchange Ltd ("PIE", "we", "us") is a company registered in England and Wales under number 17376496, with its registered office at 31 Orleans Road, Twickenham, England, TW1 3BJ. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
PIE is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Please read this policy alongside our Terms of Service and Risk & Regulatory Disclosure.
2. What we collect
We keep the personal information we hold to a minimum. It is limited to:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- Your investor type, meaning whether you have confirmed that you are a certified high net worth individual or a certified or self-certified sophisticated investor, or neither.
The forms on this website also let you add optional details, such as a phone number or a short message, and production teams can describe their project. We only receive these if you choose to include them. Please do not send us anything you do not want us to hold.
We do not ask for bank details, payment card numbers or identity documents through this website, and we do not take payments through it.
You give us this information directly. Our forms open an email addressed to contact@pie-x.co.uk, pre-filled with what you entered. We receive the information only when you send that email. If you email us directly, we receive whatever the email contains.
3. How we use it and why
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each use of your information. Ours are as follows.
Replying to your enquiry
We use your name and email address to reply to you and to take steps you have asked for, such as registering your interest. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to respond to your request, and our legitimate interest in running our business.
Confirming your investor type
We can only share specific investment opportunities with people who have confirmed that they fall within the exemptions described in our Risk & Regulatory Disclosure. We record your investor type, and the date you confirmed it, so that we can show we have followed those rules. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in complying with financial promotion law, and compliance with our legal obligations.
Sending you information
If you subscribe for information, we use your email address to send you updates about PIE, including when access widens. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will stop.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. How long we keep it
We keep a signed investor statement for twelve months, after which we ask for it to be renewed. We keep enquiry and subscription details until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe, or until we no longer need them for the purpose you gave them to us. We review what we hold from time to time and delete information we no longer need.
If you ask us to delete your information, we may need to keep a minimal record of your request, and any record we are legally required to keep, for as long as the law requires.
6. Storage and security
We store your information in our email and business systems, which are protected by access controls, and we limit access to the small team who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
If any of our providers handles information outside the United Kingdom, we make sure that appropriate safeguards are in place, as UK law requires.
7. Cookies and fonts
This website does not use cookies or analytics tools, and we do not track you across other sites.
The website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers to fetch them, and Google receives your IP address and basic browser details as part of that request. We do not receive that information. You can read how Google handles it in Google's own privacy policy. As with any website, the server that delivers our pages may also record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, for security and to keep the site running.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- object to us using your information where we rely on our legitimate interests;
- ask for your information in a portable format, where this applies;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email contact@pie-x.co.uk. We will reply within one month. We may need to confirm who you are before we act on a request. There is normally no charge.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start to collect different information. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If we make a significant change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
